Getting Started With Serena Counseling
This website gives you the information you need to decide whether Serena Counseling may be a good fit. When you are ready, Headway—our secure client platform—handles the administrative steps.
Insurance made simpler
Through our partnership with Headway, you can enter your insurance information, confirm whether your specific plan is in network, review an estimated session cost, securely add a payment method, and have routine insurance claims submitted directly. Headway also sends appointment confirmations and reminders and provides telehealth access information when applicable.
Your estimated cost is based on available benefit information and may change after your insurer processes the claim.
Getting ready for your first appointment
1. Schedule & check coverage
View current availability and begin setting up your secure Headway account.
2. Complete your account
Provide the basic information Headway needs for your appointment.
3. Add insurance information
If you are using insurance, enter your insurance details so Headway can verify your mental-health benefits and estimated cost.
4. Add a payment method
Add a secure payment method for any copay, coinsurance, deductible, private-pay fee, or other amount that is your responsibility.
5. Complete required forms
Review Headway’s required forms and complete any intake paperwork provided for your care. All required initial paperwork must be completed before your first session.
6. Attend your appointment
Follow the instructions provided for your in-person or online appointment. Headway sends appointment reminders with the date, time, estimated cost, and—when applicable—telehealth access information.
